Basic Abseiling Instructor Training

BAI Training
This is a one day course run at a variety of locations including Freycinet, Hobart and Launceston. Participants learn the essential skills to safely rig abseils using natural protection (trees, rocks, etc). Participants are instructed on group management skills and techniques to maximise safety and efficiency when running abseiling. Basic rescues are covered.
The course does not cover the use of artificial protection (nuts, camming devices, hexs etc).
Course cost is $143 for one days instruction which includes a course manual (CD).

Once course dates are confirmed of if you choose to attend a scheduled weekend Enrol through Drysdale Institute, Tasmanian Polytechnic (TP) with whom the TCIA has a partnership. TP provides insurance and issues statements of attainment aligned with the National Training Package upon successful completion of the assessment. To enrol through TP contact Jeanette Cross during business hours on 03 62338720. jeanette.cross@polytechnic.tas.edu.au She will then post an information package.

All material covered on this course is described in the TCIA Training Manual (76 pages) which can be purchased in electronic format (CD) from the TCIA The manual is aimed at TRA and MPG level thus contains more complex information that that which is required by Basic Abseiling Instructors.
