TCIA concerns over unqualified and under-qualified instructors

The TCIA has recently approached the Education Department and the Minister for Education regarding The Education Departments use of unqualified or under-qualified climbing and abseiling instructors. The Education Department has agreed to update their website with a link to TCIA website (i.e. Instructor Contacts).

Australian Standardisation of rock climbing guide qualifications.

The Australian Climbing Instructors Association (ACIA) has proposed standardising rock climbing guide qualifications Nationally. A draft document is available for your comment. Please contact the president at president@tcia.asn.au. A draft is also available for international qualifications.
