This is a two day course offered at Freycinet. The course covers technical content required to pass the Multi-pitch Guide Qualification. It has an emphasis on guiding skills, with safety and quality of client experience being the underlying theme. Complex vertical rescues are practiced including counter-balance abseil and raises. Whilst the content is aimed at preparing candidates for the Multi-pitch Guide qualification it is equally as useful for recreational climbers who seek the ability to safely and efficiently guide (and rescue) others. Instructor to participant ratio 1 to 2 for on cliff sessions and 1 to 4 for non technical components.

Enrol through Drysdale Institute, Tasmanian Polytechnic (TP) with whom the TCIA has a partnership. TP provides insurance and issues statements of attainment aligned with the National Training Package upon successful completion of the assessment.  To enrol through TP contact Jeanette Cross during business hours on 03 62338720. jeanette.cross@polytechnic.tas.edu.au She will then post an information package.
